Penny Lane

$10.00

Bud began to loosen his grip as Penny tightened hers until she was holding Annie up by herself. They stood together for as long as Penny could hold on. She leaned forward and gently placed Annie back in her chair. Annie never let go of Penny’s hand nor did she shift her gaze. She waited for Penny to look up and then she spoke; “Penny, I know we just met but I believe you are an answer to a very old prayer. Our lives have been knit together for longer than I can remember and I want you to know that as long as Bud and I have breath, you have a place to call home. Abigail’s room will always be your room. I am weary of the past, Penny, and although I don’t know what the future holds, I don’t care, as long as I can hold you.”
